Mahalingaraju Kagi, PPSA, AFIAP, AFIP
Photographer • Visual Storyteller • Mentor
Photography has been a part of Mahalingaraju Kagi’s life since his school days – a passion that gradually evolved into a lifelong journey of seeing, creating and telling stories through the camera.
A qualified Automotive Engineer, Mahalingaraju spent more than two decades working in Muscat, Sultanate of Oman. His engineering career shaped his technical discipline and attention to detail, while photography became his creative language—a way to observe people, places, nature and the world around him from a different perspective.
Over the years, his photographic journey has taken him across diverse genres including Art, Travel, Nature & Wildlife, Fashion and Model Photography. His work has been exhibited internationally in 20 countries, receiving awards, honours and recognition at national and international photographic exhibitions and salons.
Mahalingaraju is a member of the Photographic Society of America (PSA), the Federation of Indian Photography (FIP) and the Fédération Internationale de l’Art Photographique (FIAP), France. He has been conferred with the distinctions PPSA (2018), AFIAP (2018) and AFIP (2018). He also served as a member of the PSA Exhibition Data Review (EDAS) team from January 2020.
His commitment to photography extends beyond creating images. He has been actively involved in photography education, exhibitions, judging and mentoring, encouraging photographers to develop not only their technical skills but also their own visual language and artistic perspective.
He has also undertaken specialised training in Fashion Photography at J. D. Institute of Fashion Technology, Bangalore, further strengthening his understanding of fashion, lighting, composition and visual presentation.
Photography Beyond the Camera
For Mahalingaraju, photography is not simply about pressing the shutter. It is about observing, imagining and preserving a moment—whether it is the character of a person, the beauty of a landscape, the unpredictability of wildlife or the carefully crafted world of fashion and commercial imagery.
Today, this philosophy is reflected in every project undertaken through Photographic Club of Bangalore, where technical precision, creative vision and storytelling come together to create meaningful visual experiences.
A Journey Driven by Passion
From a schoolboy discovering the magic of photography to an internationally recognised photographer, educator and visual storyteller, Mahalingaraju’s journey continues to be guided by one simple belief:
Every photograph has a story. The photographer’s role is to see it, feel it and tell it.
Suresha P
Suresha P is a photographer, visual storyteller, video editor, writer and digital-media professional based in Bengaluru. His creative journey has developed across photography, filmmaking, video editing, journalism, DTP, design and digital media.
With many years of experience in video and film editing, Suresha has worked on Kannada television and film-related projects and has also been involved in media-editing work in the professional environment of ISRO. His experience extends beyond editing into visual communication, documentation, writing, reporting and creative production.
Photography has remained an important part of his creative practice. He is particularly interested in people, culture, documentary stories, nature, places and the visual details of everyday life. His approach to photography is closely connected with storytelling—using the camera not merely to record an image, but to communicate an experience, emotion or idea.
His background in journalism, writing and visual media gives him a multidisciplinary perspective. He brings together camera work, editing, storytelling and design to create meaningful visual content.
Suresha is also interested in photography education and community development. Through his association with the Photographic Club of Bangalore (PCB), he supports activities that encourage photographers to learn, practice, participate in exhibitions and salons, explore new places and connect with the wider photography community.
For Suresha, photography is not simply about the camera. It is about observing, understanding and telling stories through images.
